The Grand Canal Shoppes at The Venetian in Las Vegas, Nevada

I have been going to Vegas since I was a kid living in Los Angeles, and I can honestly say that The Venetian is one of my top five favorite casinos (the others in no particular order are: Caesar's Palace, Luxor, Exalibur, and Mandalay Bay).

As an atrocious shop-a-holic, one of my favorite things to do in Vegas is shopping. The Strip has a bunch of designer and high street options ranging from Prada to H & M. Being a broke college student, the high street are my stores of choice. One of my favorite places to shop on The Strip is at The Grand Canal Shoppes at The Venetian.

If you prefer to hold on to your money for other things/experiences, this place is great to just walk around and soak in the environment. As you guessed by its name, there is indeed a central canal  where you can ride a gondola and a Madame Tussauds. This is of course not to mention all of the great dining options available to guests.

The Venetian does not have the same central location on The Strip like Caesar's Palace, but it is a reasonable walk from the center, and in fact, if you really want to experience Vegas, you have to be prepared to walk. So, go ahead for an afternoon of shopping, check out some wax sculptors of celebrities, and pop into one of the restaurants for a day of fun. If you plan on driving to The Venetian, follow the signs to the free (that's right FREE) self-parking garage.
