The Red Canyon & Dixie National Forest Photo Diary

In my opinion, the most satiating part of a meal are the appetizers. Hear me out. You are starving and anticipating an awesome main course. But here come the appetizers and your hunger gets the best of you and for some reason, that tiny dish that you paid eight bucks for suddenly tastes better than the ambrosia of the gods and subsequently gets you pumped for the main course. This is what The Red Canyon & Dixie National Forest was to me.

You may be wondering where this came from after all the Vegas posts: after our fun few days in Vegas, we packed up our rental and headed into Utah to see Bryce Canyon National Park. Aside from frequent trips to The Strip, believe it or not, we are a family of nature lovers and I grew up going camping to the likes of Sequoia and even Jasper National Park in Canada! Although both Zion National Park (which we also ended up seeing) and The Grand Canyon were nearby, we wanted to see Bryce simply because we've never been before, whereas we've made trips to the other two in the past.

Isn't this family of deer just the cutest?! We were so surprised that they ventured in clear view of the road.

Because of course my neon pink laces match with the surroundings!

You could see the red peaks even before you enter The Red Canyon and we immediately pulled over (along with our fellow travelers) because we knew we were in for a treat. Although this isn't as grand at Bryce, it certainly gets you suuuper pumped to see it! Wanna hear the best part? It's completely free! I believe that once you are in The Red Canyon & Dixie National Forest, Bryce is about 30-45 minutes away, depending on traffic.
