A Chilled Weekend in Biloxi, Mississippi

The words fun and vacation don't come come to anyone's mind when they think of Mississippi (or maybe they do?).  Truth be told, most Mississippians go out of state when they're on vacation. However, for those who wish to stick it out in the Hospitality State, Biloxi is the place to go. I will say that it is not at the top of its game in March when we went, as the weather is on the chilly side.

The wonderful part of Biloxi is that it is basically a mini Las Vegas on the beach. That's right, you not only got white sand and calm waters, but also enough gambling machines and buffets to make your little heart sing! For those of you who like to chill, I would highly recommend grabbing some coffee and beignets at the Island View Casino and enjoying it on their deck where you can get a great view of the Gulf of Mexico (see the top picture).

We stayed at the Hard Rock Hotel over the weekend and I found it to be perfect. The room and the service were spectacular and it is always a good evening when I get to dine at a Hard Rock Cafe. There are plenty of public beaches in Biloxi (and neighboring Gulf Port) as well as a few free boardwalks.

Do you vacation in the South?

Best Wishes,
