Visiting the Cyprus Swamps on the Natchez Trace

Located on the Natchez Trace Parkway by milepost 122.0, the Cypress Swamps are truly a Mississippi state marvel. Natchez Trace is one of the most beautiful and famous routes to drive along in the United States and I would highly recommend a roadtrip along it. When we made our trip to Nashville, Tennessee, we drove along it. There are numerous outlook points and hiking trails along the way, which all can make for a nature filled and fun roadtrip.

The Cypress Swamp is not that big. The hike will probably take you fifteen minutes to walk around, making it kid friendly. I brought a friend there and she loved it. I would recommend visiting during the early Fall because that's when it is "swampy."

Have you ever driven along the Natchez Trace? What was your favorite stop?

Best Wishes,
