Cruisin' along the Chicago River

We went on a Architecture Tour on the Chicago River on our third day in Chicago. Boy, was this an incredible experience!! I heard about it whilst perusing Pinterest and knew we had to book our seats stat!

Chicago has one of the world's most beautiful skylines (see more HERE), and the city is very strict about the design of the buildings. This is good for us, because it means that each building is a work of art. The tour takes roughly two hours and you have a volunteer guide who tells you all about the skyscrapers and the city's history. Our guide was really knowledgeable and I walked away with a clearer sense of the city's "vibe" and history. Also, the ship has a bar and indoor seating, which is a total bonus!

I would highly recommend that you book your seats in advance, either at the Chicago Architecture Foundation's store (it's close to Michigan Avenue) or online because tours do fill up quickly. Moreover, I would get there early (at least by 35-45 minutes) because people start lining up in front of the boats in order to get good seats. Also, be sure to check the weather before you go. We had clear skies, which meant sunglasses, hats, and lots of sunscreen.

Would you go on a river cruise?

Best Wishes,
