Cruisin' Along the Zion- Mt. Carmel Highway

If you do not have a lot of time, but are nearby Zion National Park, the best way for you to quickly see one part of the park is by driving along Hwy 9 to the Mt. Carmel Junction that connects the Park's South and East Entrances. There are several places along the road where you can park and enjoy the scenery and snap some photos. I will say, it is a long and windy road, so make sure to drive carefully and don't make the mistake I made, go to the bathroom before hand!

There are two entrances into the Park and both serve as entrances into the Scenic Byway: the South Entrance and the East Entrance. Be ready to pay a fee; we payed twenty-five dollars for one private vehicle. However, make sure you keep the receipt, as it allows entry back into the park for seven days! Cash isn't mandatory and in fact, they prefer credit or debit cards.

If you want to see the more iconic sites of Zion, such as Angel's Landing or The Great White Throne, then you'll have to park somewhere close to the South Entrance and hop onto the FREE shuttle (it only operates certain times of the year, so make sure you look that up before your visit).

Zion National Park is probably one of the most famous parks in the USA, and for good reason. I will say, if you can spend more than one day here, do it! You will truly enjoy and appreciate what this national treasure has to offer when you take the time to not only go to the outlook points, but also when you hike the trails and just immerse yourself into the surroundings!
